According to the fan page of French Paris Saint-Germain striker Neymar on Twitter, the player has been named Brazil’s Samba d’Or Player of the Year 2020, playing in European championships.
His success in the 2019/20 season did not go unnoticed by the organizers of the prestigious award for the Latin American country, and his 19 goals and 12 assists in 27 games for the reigning French champions, which culminated in the UEFA Champions League final against Bayern Munich, allowed the player to count on receiving the award.
In total, Neymar has scored 23 goals in 30 games played in 2020.
For the PSG striker, this will be the fourth Brazilian Ballon d’Or of his career and the first since 2015. Last season, Alisson Becker won the award.
It should be noted that the only player who played in Ukraine, who was among the top three candidates to receive the award was Willian, who played for Shakhtar Donetsk in 2012. However, the striker was outplayed by Thiago Silva and Ramires that season.
By the way, it was the Chelsea defender who, until recently, shared the lead with Neymar in the number of wins in the vote – 3 times.
